This straight seed is popular amongst many garden birds including finches. We harvest black rape seed here on our farm. It contains a high level of oils that are valuable to wild birds. The oils in black rape seed act as a conditioner strengthening feathers in wild and caged birds alike.

If you feed any rape seed from the ground there is a very high chance that very soon you’ll have a miniature rape field on your lawn. Because of this we recommend that any seed mix containing black rape seed is fed from a feeder or away from your lawn.

This seed is suitable for feeding as a straight seed or as part of a wild bird mix.
