Zebra Finch Temperament:

Zebra Finches are extremely social birds that do best when kept in pairs or small flocks. Unlike many other pet bird species, Zebra Finches are quite skittish, generally do not bond with their owners, and most do not like being handled.

Zebra Finch Grooming:

Giving your Finch the opportunity to bathe is important. Frequent bathing serves several purposes. It prevents dry skin, softens the keratin coating which helps with moulting, and keep your bird bright and clean.
Your bird should have access to a bathing dish with fresh water every day.

Zebra Finch Feeding:

Always feed your Finches fresh quality seed and water that is replaced daily. Your Zebra Finch should be given a piece of Cuttlebone which will help file its beak and provide calcium in the diet.

Finches will also eat Millet Sprays and Seedbells as well as some vegetables and fruits. Some of their favourites are apple, spinach and lettuce, always feed vegetables and fruits in small amounts.

Zebra Finch Cage:

They should be housed in roomy and well sited cage to allow exercise and alleviate boredom. Perches should be well spaced and placed at different heights if possible. They should be of soft wood, round of 12 to 16mm diameter or square with the corners rounded off and of different sizes so the birds feet are not always in the same position. Place seed and water containers where they will not be fouled by the birds droppings.
